If your style were a hotel, what would it be, and what would the concierge say about you?
If my travel style were a hotel, it would be The Rees Hotel in Queenstown, New Zealand. It’s beautifully positioned with those sweeping lake and mountain views, prioritises comfort without the fuss, and gets the little things right — like a proper magnifying mirror in the bathroom and actual glass shower screens (no clingy curtains here). It’s welcoming, quietly stylish, and lets the setting do the showing off while you settle in and relax.
The concierge would probably say, “She’s the kind of guest who notices the little things, prefers local cafés over tourist hotspots, and knows exactly when to swap heels for comfy sneakers. She’s organised but easygoing, loves a hotel with personality, and always leaves with a list of recommendations for the next guest.”

After working alongside SJT advisors for the last 4 years, I see that the greatest benefit of using a travel advisor is peace of mind. When something unexpected happens — a cancelled flight, a missed connection, or a last-minute change — our clients aren’t left dealing with a call centre or chatbot. They have an SJT advisor, a personal travel expert, in their corner.
What's your top tip for responsible travel?
When I travel, I love to support conservation efforts, not-for-profits or social enterprises related to the environments and communities I have visited. If something has made an impact on me I get a kick out of contributing to their efforts to conserve that place or culture.
What’s one thing you never travel without?
Ear plugs, always ear plugs!
Perfect for sleeping on planes and trains or combating my husband’s snoring! No one wants to be tired on holidays.

Where I’ve wandered
Romantic gondola rides in Venice, swimming with turtles in Hawaii, photographing wild flowers in Ireland, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef and walking the beautiful city of Hobart. I love collecting these memories and look forward to where these adventures will take me next.
